Me too. Self care is really the most important for ordinary stress.

Take care of your body: nutrition, hygiene, sleep, exercise.
Take care of your house: declutter, organize, clean.
Take care of your money: save, invest, pay bills on time.
Take care of your spirit: pray, meditate, enjoy the arts, journal.

Surround yourself with positive people and things that can get you back on track, and relaxed.

Do what you know needs doing to remove the stress if it is unreasonable amounts for you, or unusual stress that no one is expected to cope with. Is it something you can change or control? If so, do that. If it is something you cannot control, then take charge of how much you are affected by it by doing what you must do to respect yourself. You may think matters are drastic...such as a move, or quitting your job for another, shutting out abusive family members. Sometimes drastic is needed. Usually not but it happens.

Use your best judgment, seek wise counsel, and make your best choices.

the key (for me at least), is to look at the situation from a distant godlike view. ask youself what is it that you are learning from this experience. be thankful for having bad times, for without them there would be no good, it would all just be grey. i dont know if you have seen the movie parenthood. theres a part in it where the really old senile grandma says that the roller coaster ride is always more fun and fullfilling than the merry go round. if you need to unload your problems, feel free to email me. im pretty good at solving (other peoples) problems. sometimes all you need is an ear and a hug.

Go for a walk (in the fresh air, if possible).

Fast to relieve stress, slow to relax before bedtime.

Clears the mind.

ah worries worries.........

tackle it head on...

What is the worst that could happen??

You get fired???

Your family leaves you???

You are homeless??

Would you survive all of these scenarios??? I bet you would...what you're experiencing is called anxiety. There are two positive things to do for yourself:

1. See your doctor and don't hold back. Tell him/her exactly how you feel.

2. See a mental health counselor. Tell him/her exactly how you feel....

You deserve to feel good about yourself and your work and your family. All of these people are important and need you...but first YOU need YOU...

love thyself

What works for me, but 'do as I say, not as I do':

1)Exercise
2)Get outside
3)Get involved with the community
4)If you are religious, return to those roots
5)Set goals
6)Read
7)Turn off the TV
8)Call someone you haven't talked to in a while.

try exercising....taking time for yourself and doing something good for youself. It will boost your self esteem, and you can channel the stress into your workout.
