As a player of 11 years allow me to help you with a few tips.

At your level, you are just just just barely beginning to float into the wonderful world of guitar. Right now I would suggest finding simple songs that you enjoy and learning to play them. If you have the chords G,C,D, and Em you can learn half of the songs out there. Play the songs you like and get better and better, and as you progress, invent excersizes for you to play that will improve your finger speed.

You will also want to buy a metronome for practicing purposes.

Here are some helpful websites that will give you some things to learn/look at if you are interested.

Have fun, and remember that the guitar is something thats supposed to be fun :) So enjoy it!

Good luck!

I'm assuming your talking about G,C and D chords? The best exercises would be to try moving from chord to chord in a smooth motion. G C D C G
4//// 4//// 4//// 4//// 4////

Try 4 down strokes with you pick per chord. Make sure there is no buzzing with the strings and your fingers are applying enough pressure to each string so the chord rings clearly..

Once your able to do that.. do the same thing with some other chords.. Really basic..but it should work for you!

Keep learning chords!! They are the building blocks of all music. While your learning these chords keep practicing and practicing switching between them while your playing. This will help your fretting. Good Luck!

I have no clue. I learned by fret instead of chord. Sorry.

i just played the same notes over and over until i finally got it then i just looked up gutair tabs...and eventually ended up making up little songs on my own...the gutair is a good way to pass the time.
