Up to 3 months a suction abortion is preformed. The body of the fetus is torn to shreds, arms legs and head are generally dismembered. In order for the abortion to be successful the nurse then counts the body parts to make sure there all there.
4-6 months saline abortions are done. The amniotic fluid is removed by a large needle placed in the abdomen and then saline is replaced where the amniotic fluid was. The fetus is scaled and soon quits moving. Although I have seen many a fetus born alive with saline abortions. Cervical dilators are use to start the labor process, the mother (term used lightly) then goes into labor and delivers the fetus. If it is born alive it has to be named a buried otherwise its put in a bucket, (like a KFC bucket) and covered with formaldehyde. I will stop at this point. RN (been there done that) God forgive me.

Beginning at around the 12th week of pregnancy, abortionists do crush the skull of the "fetus" (Latin for "little one") before drawing it out of the womb. In surgical abortions before this point, the baby is torn apart by powerful suction or cut apart by a curette (a loop-shaped steel knife). For more information, see:

If it is in late 2nd trimester, yes. I dont think than other for emergency situations abortions are allowed in the third trimester. First trimester abortions are the safest and simplest. Since the fetus is still very small and hasn't developed bones, it is simply sucked out of the uterus with a vaccum type thing. If the baby is too large, like late 2nd trimester a partial birth abortion is done. In this abortion (which is extremely controversial) the baby is partially brought into the birth canal, and then their head is pierced and brains sucked out. This causes their skull to collapse, and they are therefore easily delivered. This is considered inhumane by some activists because the baby can feel pain.

Each state has it's laws, but in many one can terminate a pregnacy until the 18th week. A D&C proceedure is used. That is basically a vacuming of your uterus, sucking all contents out. For more information check with a family planning clinic for a non-bias education on this subject.

No. Almost all abortions take place early and do not involve that.

Only when the pregnancy could badly hurt or kill a woman will they do a d & e abortion.

Of course the anti-choice people talk about that as if it happens all the time but it hardly ever happens.

In late term abortions yes, in early first trimester abortions no. Most doctors will not do late term abortions especially if the mothers health is not in danger,etc... Although some doctors consider a mother's threats of suicide if she doesn't have one a valid life in danger option. If you are in your late term please consider adoption.

Why would that matter? The foetus is being killed. That's what abortion is...killing the foetus. A crushed skull isn't going to matter at all...................................................

You really don't want to know what happens. It's not a pretty mental picture. Although it also depends on the procedure. Sorry.
