my 8 year old son put his ear to an empty light bulb socket last night...he says he heard a buzzing noise, and since then his ear has been hurting him...does anybody know what's going on?

Buzzing sound could be the electrical charge. The hurting, I would probably take him to the doctor. maybe an ear infection. He may have done something else and is not saying.

could it be possible he got a bit of a shock from the socket which caused a little burn in the ear?

Sounds like he may have electric shocked his ear...?
