Trying to create a character for a Creative Writing Project, and I have no clue what the windiest US state is.
Help is appreciated. =)

'Kay, more details.
Yeah, I was kinda looking for strongest winds, so I'll most likely go with New Hampshire... But a lot of people are saying Wyoming, so we'll see in a few what I pick.
As for Hawaii, my character probably won't come from Hawaii.

Can you provide some more information? When you talk about windiest, are you referring to strongest winds? Strongest average wind speeds? That would help.
Off the top of my head, I would say that the states in the running are:
- New Hampshire (strongest recorded wind speed on the planet was observed at Mt. Washington, 203 MPH)
- Alaska (purely based on the latitude)
- Michigan (given proximity to the Great Lakes)
- California (Santa Ana winds in the south and the bay-area wind patterns in the north)

I have been to every state but Hawaii and I have to vote for Wyoming,

It has to be Hawaii because it is an island in the middle of the Pacific.
Alaska may be second, if not California, Oregon or Washington.
No other state has a chance based on wond patterns.

I know that Chicago is the "windy city", but the windiest state, hmmm, maybe one of the plains states that are really flat?
