more stuff to add to the question: why did they change it after, like, a year or two.

Yeah they changed the jerseys. Now they have a big slug on the front of their absolutely hideous jerseys. Also that rediculous number on the right shoulder.

They probably changed the jerseys because there are a lot of Red and black teams in the league and they wanted to go back to their original color combo blue and yellow.

A majority of their fans (and I do mean the true fans, not the bandwagon fans) hate the new jerseys. The Sabres also wear their vintage jerseys a lot, probably because the fans hate the new jerseys.

I think they are up there with the worst jerseys in the league. I really don't like them at all. The Sabres are llucky they have a good team, because with those jerseys, they would be the laughing stock of the league, and the center of so many jokes.

The Sabres wore their original uniforms from 1970 until their first year in HSBC arena, which I believe was 96. Teams are required to give the league one years notice of an upcoming uniform change. This is for approval and marketing purposes. The way the jerseys are selling around the country, I doubt they will consider any changes in the near future. I have heard that next season the home teams will wear their away(white) uniforms for home games against divisional opponents. I'm not sure why they are making that change now, other than to maybe ease their way back to how it had always been prior to the last few years.

The Buffalo Sabres have their current uniforms and they have a "throwback" uniform. The throwback uniform is an older uniform that they wear occasionally to appeal to the fans.

Teams hardly ever change their jerseys permanently. Most teams regularly alter their jerseys in some way, even if it is minor. Even the Boston Bruins have changed their uniform many times, although the overall look has remained the same.

The Sabres changed to their present uniforms for the 2006-2007 season. Most people know them as the "Barney Rubble's" because the crest kind of looks like Barney's do.

They also use the old logo for their alternate unis.

Mark Y said it. THe Buffalo Sabres are the biggest merchandising team this season because of the logo change all because they use three different logos still. I really hope Ryan Miller has a career ending injury because he isn't really that good of a goaltender, he just has a good team.

I think all teams should have to wear the same jerseys for at least 10-20 years-I am tired of teams changing all the time-Canucks!

No team changes their uniforms forever...$$$$$$$$$$. I am sure they will have "throwback" nights to remind people of the other jerseys they may not have bought yet.

as a matter of fact they did,but that was at the beginning of the season.the entire nhl is going to change their jerseys starting next year going to a lighter and more absorbant so the players are more comfortable and not so hot.the jerseys they wear now were originally designed for pond hockey so they are pretty hot.

Well rumor has it they may change again in style. BUT I beleive they will stick with blue and yellow which is the original colors of the team when it was formed back 74 I think.

So yes they did change from last year.

Yes, a uniform change stays until they change it again.

I liked the old ones better though.
