when you help them make sure they always study and get good grades all through school. talk to them about what they're interested in doing or trying, or make suggestions for them based on their personality. it varies by age, and some things might develop until much later on.

some things they might turn up their nose at, but keep trying every so often. my mom spent 10 years trying to get me to play tennis. i never would until one day i finally gave in, tried it and liked it. 4 years later, i won our high school conference.

always encourage your child and do whatever you can to help them be successful.

probably when they finish college lol before that they can change their minds real fast don't fast track your kid into something many of my friends in college dropped out cause they hated it so your best bet from the perspective of a current law student and dad is to just let them figure out what they want to do. Like I said DON'T tell them to do only this it will limit their experiences that they could have which would show them what will make them truly happy. Thankfully my parents did this or I would be stuck as an architect lol hate the idea now but loved it and am and always have been excellent in math

encourage your child to do different things. maybe until they find something that they love that they are atleast a little bit good at, or can get better at. something they will not get bored of and will enjoy doing but will benefit them at the same time. maybe try puting them in different instrument clases, or musical things, or art...or maybe even something that relates no where near that, let them choose, see what they are interested in and try to help them stick with it. encourage them to do well in school, stay up to date with their teacher and make sure u know whats going on in their classes and help them
