i own an 2006 Evo 9 mr, the only problem in the car is the stock clutch!! If you buy an ACT street clutch kit and a flywheel you'll run nice.

Yes there is some problems with the EVO. They are very hard to do any kind of maintance on. They also dont hold a good resale value. Due to kids who are 16 get this car and rip the hell out of it. If you plan on doing any customizing to it yourself then it is very difficult to do. Also the tires and clutch only last for the first 10,000 miles.

They are good at handeling around cornes though. The AWD is ok and the turbo on the thing is good size but you have to have it in low gears if you are racing anyone. I had one and got rid of it due to the clutch going out again.

I bought a 05 STI. I am glad that i did due to the way the car is built. I had some tuning done to my EVO and put an exhaust intake etc but was still not satisified. This car has a 2.5 not a 2.4 and its not set up as a V4. It is set up as a boxter type engion and the cylinder heads go out not in a V. So the car stays more balanced. Also all the maintance is so easy to reach that the only thing that is hard to do is change the spark plugs. But the sound on the STI with the exhaust is just what made me fall in love.

Like i said b4 about everything being right in front of you to work on the car is totaly true. You have access to the turbo, intercooler, all that. GET the STI

IT NEEDS MORE COWBELL!

No, seriously though... it's an amazing car. The only "problems" I would say is that it has a very high maintenance cost (i.e. tires ($200+ and they only last about 10,000 miles), changing fluids tranny & transfer case, synthetic oil changes, etc.)
