Sega Genesis because it had better graphics and faster game play. Remember how fast Sonic was able to move. It also had Eternal Champions, the greatest 2D fighter of all time.

SNES. I only remember Sonic from any sega game systems. Yet Nintendo has got Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Zelda: Link to the Past, Mega Man X1-X3, and a series of other games that make it the best system. It was an era of quality gaming vs quantity.
Nintendo still makes games.. what is Sega doing now? ;)

Sega Genesis was better and came out earlier than Super NES.

the graphics were better on snes but i always preferred the genesis
