If you are asking when you can start losing weight and exercising after having a baby. Then the answer is you can start doing light exercise around a month after. But you should wait until your 6 week postpartum visit with your doctor to get an okay to start anything heavy.

You can start pretty much after you have healed up (for everyone that is different, especially if you had a C-section)

If you are nursing though you don't need to worry so much as you will take off the weight in a few months naturally. It actually takes more calories to make milk then it did when the child was inside you growing.

I personally liked pilates as the best shape up after pregnancy choice because it really tones the stomach.

I saw a woman at a Weight Watcher's meeting with a 1 month-old baby. It is recommended to not do adominal exercises until you see your doctor at your 6 week check-up. If you are breastfeeding, that will help you burn calories. My son was on a feeding tube (he was almost 3 months early) and even with just pumping the breast milk for him I lost 10 pounds in a couple of weeks...I was also doing a lot of walking at Children's Hospital while he was in there.

it wont hurt to start right after having the baby. however, do not do strenuous excercise and fast dieting. just eat a reasonable amount of healthy food and do very light excercise such as walking to start out. breast feeding really helps speed up the process.
