The guy who invented time travel went back to the era of the cave men.
they didn't like his machine so they killed him,it is rotting in a field some where 100,000 years or so in the past.
If they had liked him time travel machines would be as common as automobiles.

Travelling backwards or forwards in time is not possible as we know things.
The closest we can consider as possible is TRAVERSING time.
By this I mean we by-pass time via a conduite, such as a theoretical worm hole. If we found a theoretical worm hole in space and it lead into the Adromeda Galaxy we might reach there in an instant, a day, a week, a year, while under normal travel it would take billions and trillions of years. Thus we by pass time.
We would then be seeing Andromeda as it is today in their area, rather than as it was billions of years ago on Earth.

According to Einstein, the closer to the speed of light you travel, time slows down for you, essentially "time-traveling". Russian Cosmonaut Sergei Avdeyev holds the current known record for time travel by a human being. In his over 748 days aboard Mir (cumulative across three missions) he went approximately 17,000 mph and traveled roughly 0.02 seconds (20 milliseconds) into the future. A common misconception is that the Apollo astronauts hold the record -- they did go faster than Avdeyev, but they were only in space for a few days. So, Mr. Avdeyev is 20 milliseconds younger than if he had never went into space.
Is this technically "time-travelling"? You decide.

Time travel has never been proven true, however several popular theories support its possibility, such as the theory of relativity, which suggests that spacetime may be bent to touch itself at another portion, creating point where time travel could be achieved.

Yes.
The very first humans discovered it, even before they were human. They found that all you had to do was wait for a day, and POW! you had time-traveled a whole 24 hours into the future.

No it has never been proven possible.
It has been suggested as feasible in many science fiction novels, movies and comic books.
