You will have to have a legal guardian to purchase the ticket. Things have changed since 9/11. Even if you have a the money to purchase the ticket.. they will require an ID and legal document stated you are able to fly that distance and will be responsible for you. Good luck.

if you're thinking about doing something like flying somewhere to meet someone you've been talking to online - DON'T DO IT! i know its pain when you're parents don't want to let you do something thats important to you, but try to see things from their perspective - what would you do if it was your kid? but if just have really strict parents and there's no reason for you not to go, then think about how your relationship will be with them if you do go. is it so important that you do this even if it means a huge falling out with them?

when i was 17 i flew but not oversees it was to another state though. i think the age for purcahsing your own plane ticket is 16 or 17 though. it was kinda scary because my plane was almost delayed and i almost had to come home a day late. i wouldn't reccomend doing it though, it was scary waht if something happened to me ?
