I took an Eckerds Digital Pregnancy Test on the day of my missed period. This is the kind of test that is keyword: digital. [It reads out in text Pregnant, or Not pregnant]. Anyhow, in 1 min the screen reads "Not Pregnant". Great. So I pop out the test strip and theres of course 1 medium dark line. So I put the cap on the disposable strip and put it in my purse to be thrown out later. I pulled it out 1 day later [today] and that dark line is still there and theres also a faint 2nd line. I read the instructions and it says nothing about time limit of reading or anything. Have any of you ladies had this? Feel free to IM.

Not to worry. Those tests are prone to show false positives if you hang onto them too long.

The results are meaningless after about 15 minutes.

That test shouldn't have been read after the time frame. Almost all digitals have 2 lines even when ur not pregnant because it finds the hormone LH which is identical to HCG but they are different. The test was negative. But if you still think ur pregnant take another test okay? Don't worry about that test anymore.

Yes...it can happen. You read only the first result that you got. The second faint line that showed up later is a fault of the test. If unsure take another. It should read negative again. Should be nothin to worry about and happened to my sister. But go to your doctor anyway to be sure.

You shouldn't read the results after ten minutes. They are invalid after ten minutes and that faint line is an evaporation line.
