lies, lies, lies. it's amazing what the GM-haters will say, 6-12 mpg for a v6? hahahahaha. It's been documented that the Jimmy and Blazer routinely get 17 mpg on average. Also, the 4.3 liter v6 has been one of the most reliable v6 engines made. I would recommend buying one of these vehicles.

i have a '99 blazer V6 4dr 4x4, and it's doing pretty well for me. I've only had it since December, because that's when i got my license and my mom gave me it. for me on gas, it gets about 16 -18 mpg, going from and to school mostly. It's been good for me, but my mom had problems with it. It leeks oil, and still does. She had the bearings replaced once or twice and the drivers side door is sagging. Also, the noise the blinker makes stops and starts by it's self lol. Luckly, i'm getting a new car in a couple months. Hey, i'll sell you my Blazer! lol

I owned a 98 Blazer and it was a nightmare.... they get horrible gas mileage and I replaced just about everything in sight..... They are small inside, not good for traveling... now I liked my Blazer alot, but I have to tell you the truth here.... I had friends who had blazers and they all told me they got poor mileage. I really liked they way they look.... but they are not dependable... the lousy 4L60E transmission in mine blew up and I sold it and bought a Dodge Durango..... 100% better now.

I had the 4.3 liter and got 9mpg town and 15 highway..... with a cold air intake and flowmaster exhaust.

it is a SUV! how well do you think it will do on gas. that said are you talking a S10 Blazer/S15 Jimmy or the full size Blazer/Jimmy? I have owned both. My full size had a V8 and 4bbl carb and got about 11 mpg. I had both S10 and S15 versions and both had V6's and got less than 20mpg.

I bought my '02 4dr 4x4 in nov... and if you get snow... this thing
ROCKS. The truck is awesome in general. The only thing I've
heard go is the 4x4 actuation. Not a real expensive fix. Plus, I've
already moved 3 people, and my toolbox 4 times... LOL

Are you looking for the full size or the mini-turd size ?
The full size gets about the same as a pick-up 6-12mpg with a V8small block slightly less with a big block. the mini or baby (s10 /s15) gets a little better but still not great.

crappy reliability. i may be mistaken but its one of the worst. check out consumers report. your local library has it. u can even call them and ask them to look it up for u. i doubt their mpg is stellar either just given the nature of the beast.
