"The reality is there's been a change in the relationship over 14 years and, hopefully, we can just put it behind us," Rodriguez said. "You go from sleeping over at somebody's house five days a week, and now you don't sleep over. It's just not that big of a deal."

What's that supposed to mean?

He's just saying its like a kid who has a friend and spends the night at his house but then you just stop. It's not about those two he's just making a point of how things work between everyone. I'm sure that depending on your age, i dont know how old you are but if you were 12 or 13 you'd always be over someones house then you guys just grow apart and still talk but aren't at each others houses all the time. Thats the point Alex was trying to make with him and jeter.

A-Rod was referring to a time in their careers when they played on different teams. When he was in Seattle and the Yankees visited to play Jeter would stay with A-Rod. When the Mariners were in New York A-Rod would stay with Jeter. If you remember the brawl between the two teams, Jeter and A-Rod stood on the sidelines visiting and joking while the rest of both of their teams fought. The two were good friends. My, bet is that they still are, but not as good as they used to be.

I am not sure what it means. I thought "sleepovers" were for pre-teens! But in this day and age, I suppose it is possible that two straight men could have a close enough friendship that they would wish to spend the night at each other's house. No harm in that. I just wish A-Rod had elaborated more about just exactly what he meant.
