Where did you get this idea? Children love to play outside in America. Granted, in the city parents may be a little more apprehensive to allow them to play in the streets. But in rural/suburban America, children playing outside is the norm.

I think they don't play together for a variety of reasons.
1 being that most families have both parents working and kids are at child care and have no concept of just playing outside in the neighborhood.
2nd, parents are afraid to let their children go outside to play, it's dangerous with all the predators out there.
3rd, tv and computers have kids occupied inside, it's not healthy, but it's a fact.
I'm sure there are more reasons, but those are the first that come to mind.

Why play outside when you have a Wii, X Box, PlayStation (1, 2, & 3), Game Cube, and PSP. American kids are just lazy and no longer enjoy the simple pleasures that a game of hide-and-go-seek brings.

I always played outside, now days kids still play outside....I don't know how they played in Europe, but in America they are playing ball in the street and jump rope and hop scotch....

I don't know what your talking about. My kids go outside everyday and play with the kids on the block.

kids play in america. when i was young i used to go out and play all the time. i guess it just depends on what part of the country it is or what type of neighborhood.

becuase we have Ipods, Cells phones, Tv, Computer, boys, and ect. plus the fact that we are lazy.. we dont need to go and ''play'' outside when we have our friends on myspace or AIM or on the phone..

u mean recess? well most of the schools stop it by middle school cause they thing we are old enough to not need recess. I would really like it though.
