Repairman came to my home to fix my furnace today. He made several trips back and forth to his truck in the rain...everytime he entered back into the house...did not wipe his feet. Once he finished the repair, handed me the bill and I handed him a broom, mop and dust pan. Was I wrong for that??

rosey,

No way...matter of fact, I would say that HE was in error for not doing it without being prompted.

Professional repair folks (reputable ones, anyways) always haul out trash they generate and puts the place back the way they found it when they begin the job.

Nope. It's your right and they don't have the right to be messing up your home just to fix furnace. n

I think I would have been giving him some words long before then and would have given his boss a phone call as well.

Good for you. Why do they think that they don't have to take off their boots? Alot of them wear those shoe/boot protectors over their boots and take those off so the floor does not get dirty.
You were not wrong... :)

Being the clean freak that I am I would have done the same thing.

Not at all. You could have been even nicer and sent him a cleaning bill.

Only if you don't have a doormat for him to wipe his feet on.
