I think you should get a job! I think alimony is a cheap way out and nobody should get it. Child support is one thing, but why should he have to pay you? I never agreed with it or understood the whole alimony thing...

It doesn't really matter if others AGREE with the judgement of alimony. Not paying it is against the law. Start filing leins against any property he owns, go to Legal Aid if you have no money for an attorney and have a withholding filed. Go to the courts and ask how you can have a judgement filed against him. It will show up on his credit, if it's more than $5k or so it can even prevent him from getting a passport!

Then yes, get a job and invest the alimony money in the stock market or real estate.

Please, as soon as you can, if you have an attorney, call the attorney on this. If pro se (on your own) you will need to go to the court where this was ordered, get the paperwork for contempt of court, Fill it out, get someone 18 yrs. old or older, to serve it (a copy) to your ex, at least one week before the court date, and then go to court on the date the court gives you Prior to the court date - I think it's 3 days before-you need to turn the original paperwork into the court clerk's office for court. Bring your copy to court on the court date you have. Your ex needs to pay the alimony-or the judge will find him in contempt of court. That is not a good thing. I wish you the best. Take care..

Go see your attorney, because you may have to 'take him to court' or have him thrown into jail for 'non-payment of alimony.'
