My son has a bad cold and an ear infection. He is still eating, but not quite as much as usual. Is this normal when babies are sick?

Poor appetite or feeding is normal for a sick baby especially if he has colds and ear infection.Colds makes your baby congested and unable to breathe effectively and if you have an ear infection it would be painful to keep sucking the bottle or breast because your ear is inflamed.

Absolutely. Like us they don't feel for it too much. Make sure he has plenty of fluids and maybe try one of the mineral replacement drinks (also available like an ice lolly) that you can buy in the pharmacy. Maybe some light fruit. Shredded apples, etc so that they do not have to do too much work to get them down.

Babies don't eat much when they are sick, that is normal. Just make sure to give plenty of fluids to keep him hydrated :)

Absolutely. My son drives me crazy not eating when he's sick (he's 9 months old so I"m still a control freak about his intake at this age).
