People say it isnt real even though in Washington D.C., it was 60 degrees in December for almost 2 weeks and it even snowed in Mexico! Why do they think that summers are become extremely hot now? Also, the ice caps are melting and hasnt anyone noticed that there has been a lot more natural disasters than ever before? What more evidence do you need?

Those of you who say that I am a follower, I am not. I too at first was critical of this theory but then I did my OWN research and came up with my OWN opinion about it. As for what we should do, we need to put more government regulations on buisnesses to reduce the amount of pollutents going out right now. Also, we should really start getting rid of gas powered cars not only because they are harmful to the enviroment, but also because we are going to run out of oil very soon so we might as well start slowly cutting off our dependency on oil so that we wont have too completely cut off all at once when we run out of oil since that will cause total chaos.

For those of you who dont understand, by research, I meant that I looked at scientific data, science articles, facts ect. and based on all the information I drew a conclusion that this is definetly real and man made.

it's actually Americans more than the rest of the world that continues to deny global warming. Part of the answer is the oil companies effective effort to confuse the debate by sowing doubt. They buy off scientists and fund think tanks that are very good at leaving the impression that there's a genuine debate in the scientific community as to the anthropogenic contribution to global warming (even though the debate is over and 99% of climate scientists believe in global warming). Also, people tend not to believe stuff that doesn't effect them on a daily basis. Lastly, global warming is associated with environmentalism. Anything having to do with the environment is automatically associated with liberalism, and to conservatives (which most Americans are) buying into global warming would require them to go against their tribal mindset, which is tough to do. Not to mention the fact that most in American society simply aren't scientifically literate enough to understand the findings nor do they respect scientists. Just look at the evolution debate.

There IS something that scientists have NOT admitted. The fact with that earthquake in India (or was it Indonesia) at 9. something on the richter scale knocked the earth axis off. Did everyone forget about that? It wasn't by much, but it still invoked a change.
When the quake is so strong it causes a 'stop' issue with the world Atomic Clock...that says some very serious changes will be taking place. The earth has been going through global warming and cooling periods since recorded time began to take note of it.
When you were in school, remember Pangea?? The continents breaking further and further apart to create the earth as we know it today, is in fact, the truth. Pick up any Natural Science book from a school and it'll show you earths changes beginning billions of years ago.
Whenever I see a rock with various layers, especially on an angel, I see the melting of the polar ice caps and more of the earth being exposed. Beside, their theories are filled with holes... and even the National Weather Meteorologists can veryify that. Just go back into the history of science (you can do this online) and watch the earth changes there. It's just all in the natural order of things.
Granted, less buring of fossel fuels will help. We can go back to wood fires...but then we're again destroying the trees, which in REALITY change Carbon Monoxide into Oxygen. They DO NOT give off harmful gasses. If it were that case were true, that plants and trees give off noxious gasses, then why do they allow such in CCU and ICU at the hospitals here? C'mon, the doctors and nurses aren't that dumb. Now, fresh cut flowers or plant cuttings, no...but plants and small trees, yes.

I have not seen anyone deny global warming. What is the solution? should we kill off half of the earth and shut down all industry tomorrow? What do you recomend? I don't have the solution. For your reading enjoyment I thought I would add this weather report from 1899. Yes 18 99
This month's report also focuses on the "Great Cold Wave of February 1899" which featured temperatures below zero as far south as the panhandle of Florida where Tallahassee recorded a low of -2 degrees F, on February 13th, 1899. This month actually featured two different cold waves, both of which set some all-time state records which exist to this day. (The first cold wave around the 10th of the month, set the all time Ohio state record low temperature of -39 at Milligan.) A quote from the Monthly Weather Review of February 1899 remarks on the Great Cold Wave, " These cold waves established many new landmarks for future reference - whether we consider the instrumental readings or the physical phenomena resulting from the cold. The most striking of the latter perhaps was the flow of ice down the Mississippi River on the 17th, past New Orleans and into the Gulf of Mexico, an event never before witnessed within the memory of man. Ice an inch thick formed at the mouth of the Mississippi in East and Garden Island bays, and the temperature fell to 10 degrees F. on the 13th. The loss of human life, from January 29th to February 13th, by freezing and avalanches (in Colorado) as near as can be ascertained was 105 persons".

Real or not, nobody can deny that the toxins being put in the air are bad for the environment. They need to stop bickering about Global Warming and start thinking about how to keep us, and the rest of the creatures that live here healthy. I don't care if the Earth is warming, or if it is caused by us. I do care that little to nothing is being done about toxins in the air, and that can't be argued. But Global Warming gets votes on both sides so until we have some non party politicians, they will squabble until we are destroyed.

OK this one chaps my a$#..
THE ISSUE IS NOT GLOBAL WARMING !!!! GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT THE PROBLEM !!!!
IT IS ABOUT GLOBAL POLLUTING !!!!! AGAIN GLOBAL POLLUTION !!!!
Global Warming (if true, I don't know, haven't studied it) is only a symptom, like pain when you break your arm.
The problem on this earth (not the one where the Liberals came from) is GLOBAL POLLUTING !!!
Poison in the air, water, dirt. Everywhere you can think of you can find a Superfund Site (Just look it up, one is coming to your neighborhood soon)
So regardless whether or not the "Globe is warming", its a fact that the water in your tap is polluted, the paint chips in your yard are polluted, the air you breath is polluted, San Francisco Bay is so polluted it illegal to dump dredged material.
Anyone in So Cal, go to any river where it flows into the Ocean and stick your hand down into that goop about a foot, see what happens.
String fellow acid pits in Riverside worry me more than "Getting Warm" , you have Hydrofluoric acid and every other freekin thing you can imagine flowing right into our own mouths.
We are going to die from breathing this crap faster than melting snow.
So again, the Warming Globe is ONLY A SYMPTOM . The earths pain receptors. The reason the earth is in pain is the problem.
I hate the term "Global Warming" because it puts lipstick on the real issue.
And I find it real sad that it takes a finite result of our careless habits to prompt us to action, when the problem has affected us for decades, lying at our feet, imbedded in our feet....................

Are you for real? Global warming is BS science at best. Tell the people in Mi where it has been sub zero for a couple of weeks about global warming. What was the ice age? Global freezing? The planet goes through periods of greater heatin and cooling. It always has. More Co was put out by Mt St Helens when it erupted in the 80's than man s automobiles could produce in 20 years.

hey, before you go off the deep end, get your panties in a bunch, and start waving "the end is near" signs... take this into consideration:
how long have you been alive?
how long have the people that tell you global warming is a threat been alive?
do you really know whats happening?
or are you just a "follower"?
ok, heres the news... Global Warming is real... yes, real.... its a fact... the issue is: its natural.
yes, thats right... natural...
you see, the earth spins on its axis... big whoop, we all now that, but what you might not acknowledge is that it is also spinning on a third axis that is similiar to a change in seasons, but takes many, many years to cycle... the earth goes through global warming... and global cooling... hence ice ages, and ice recessions...
humans didnt cause the ice age (unless they did a snow dance)
by the way, check your record books... its not uncommon for warm temps in december or to have storms every now and then...
dont get sucked in by extremist groups... read for yourself about the earths cooling and warming processes...
(the sky aint falling)

You seem to be lumping every with the neocons. But some of them admit the Earth is warming. Usually the over riding question is whether it is man made or a natural event> You can't go by local or short term weather. In 2005, we had a record number of hurricanes, at least since records have been kept. Last year, they were few..

Probably because the people who are telling us its an issue are still driving cars, still working for polluting corprations, and still using electricity. If liberals want to convince us that global warming is a real issue and not just a socialist trojan horse, then I suggest they set an example by turning off their computers, quitting their jobs, getting rid of their cars, shutting off their power and their plumbing, shedding all their clothes, and living in the wild like animals. It'll be tough, and you probably won't survive the first winter. But I'm sure you're willing to do what it takes to save the world.

Here in Gainesville Fl. We set a record cold a couple of nights ago. a hundred years ago, Gainesville was the center of the citrus growing area. That center has moved about 200 miles south since then. 30 years ago Gore and his gang were talking about an ice age, and how we had to raise our thermostats and leave our doors open to save the planet. When grant money flows, science goes (out the door).
