Im not sure if its my style of play because Im a big guy 6'4 that plays both inside and out. I am more of a jump shooter and so many people say I should be banging down low. But this is what I dont get, when Im on D I do bang down low and do play solid defense, but for some reason since people just think of me for my offense they dont give me any credit for my overall game. Now I feel slighted and not appreciated because all they see is this big guy who can shoot. How can I get them to appreciate me?

use that as a motivation to be better. just like michael jordan did when he was criticized and it make him work harder on his game.

u got 2 words for u Dirk Nowitzke and 2 more Larry Bird

u tell me 7 feet and not kindda sure larry Birds height but he was a power forward.

If they both can win the 3point contest and do stuff like that why can'y u plus i think its a talent to shoot cause all the smaller guys can but not most of the big guys and u so ur preety big compared to the rest. So i think u should be happy lol

keep playin solid D and if your makin ur shot keep takin it. Eventually you'll get the respect you deserve after a while the defense will over play you pump fake drive and im not sure if you can but at 6'4'' try throwin it down that'll get you respect no matter what. Plus all people love it when someone takes a charge, so try that also that'll show your toughness.

just play your game and don't care if ppl appreciates you or not. in a pickup game, ppl only care about offense. When you play in a school team, coaches will love defense. The only thing you should worry about is if coaches appreciate your defense and give you solid minutes on the court.

You need to take over as the team's vocal leader. Call out backdoor screens, set picks, draw charges...do all the little things that can get you noticed. Every coach loves someone who hustles and tries to make things happen.

Compliment your teammates, and then they will watch you and get compliments in return.
