It depends what kind of scary you want. If you want simple, gory, no bars killing, than you want the Descent. But if you want something that will keep you up for nights and won't leave you alone, than the Grudge is for you.

Personally, I like the Grudge better in terms of horror. It's intelligent, creepy, and a one way ticket to staying up for the next week.

An American Haunting. The one about the bell witch in tennessee. Also Exorcism of Emily Rose.

Old school :) Hitchcock's "The Birds" (1963). When I first saw if my friends tricked me...it starts like a romantic comedy and then goes all sideways, and the birds just Freak You Out!

Of course if they're expecting a scary movie, that trick won't quite do it, but still...scary stuff!

"The Exorcist, Part III". I laugh at horror movies, but that one was too much. "The Ring" is scary, but more because of the creepy way the girl moved.

If you watch the movies with the sound off, none of them are scary. That shrilly music sets the tone.

I remember seeing Fire in the Sky when I was a kid and it scared the living crap out of me. Jason and Freddy had nothing on this one.

The Ring was pretty freaky too, but I was a lot older when i saw that.

Saw
Saw II
Saw III
They are all pretty scary, and I love them because they aren't just like all the other scary movies out there. It's all about mind games!

Psycho 2 scared me enough to keep me awake that night, and I watched it in the morning.

Exorcism movies are scary!

But if you find the grudge scary, you can also try Shutter. That was really scary!!
