I'm asking because I'm in a criminal justice class and that's how my teacher worded it and I can't get a hold of my teacher to find out if it is the same thing.

Yes it's pretty much the same except that community action groups normally get involved in other issues also. IE, if you have a HomeOwnres Association, they are the one's that police the neighborhood against others BUT against their own breaking the rules too.

Basically, the community action group is the same as the neighborhood watch because all organizations have the same intention - to provide security and safety to the people in their vicinity. Some purposes may vary depending upon their funds and support.

I would think that depends on their by-laws. Community action group sounds really....strange to me. If they are a neighborhood watch..then I would think they'd state it that way. I'd investigate that first, and very thoroughly. Although, it could just be my law enforcement training, I do have a tendency to 'not trust people.' Sorry, nothing against you...I've just been trained to 'investigate thoroughly first.'
