..is to earn more money and get bigger and more expensive homes, travel and stuff like that? Just wondering because most people I know in their 20s don't care about all that stuff anymore. This is different from my parents' generation. My husband and I are happy in our average (1600 sq. ft) home. We never want anything bigger or more expensive than that. Our cars are used and paid for, and we made a commitment never to finance a car if we can help it. We like our life simple. Are we unusual?

Thats interesting that the younger generation does't care about those things, but at least you own a house, I still rent at 49.
