Some pregnancy test say that you can test 5 days before your missed period. But that is according to when you conceived, and not to many people can actually pin point that exact date. Also, it depends on how much hCG is in your urine that can be detected by the test. Some test can read the lowest amount of the pregnancy hormone. Testing to early could result in a negative test result. If you wait 7-10 days to test after your missed period (although it is hard to wait), you should get a positive result. If the test is negative, go to the doctor so they can test the beta blood test!! Hope this helps and I hope you get the results that you want!!

go by what you already know about ur period and all that. I sugest picking a day out of the week like a sunday or whatever having some cheap test handy get them from the dollar store they work fine, and just test ur self once every 2 weeks. since you are trying to get pregnant. Its good to question these things. I know for a fact you can be well into your pregnancy and still have a short or normal period and its more common then you may think.
One more thing there are always other ways to tell you know old home saying for back when there where no test keep track of breast tenderness and things like that
you can take a test 14days after you have sex
Do the test first thing in the morning, when hormone concentrations are highest.
Home tests claim to be 97 percent accurate. When there are mistakes, they're usually false negatives; false positives are very rare.
best of luck hun

Some hpts do claim to be able to give a accurate answer before you're missed period. Personally, I don't have much faith in this. Hormone levels are different for everyone. You might be someone who can't tell very early because you have a low amount of the hormone. Wait at least a week after your missed period to test. Good Luck!

Now days with many pregnancy tests on the market, you can take a pregnancy as early as 5-6 days before your missed period (I've read that on a box of First Response Pregnancy Test).

You are right, you can buy tests that can tell from up to 7 days before you are due - I took one and it worked (I was pregnant) the line was very faint so I ended up buying another 3 tests just to be sure - which ended up costing more than if I had waited a few days. I personally couldn't wait to know, but if you are unsure of when you are actually due, it may be better to hold your money and try in a few day's time if you can stand it.

If you know the day you ovulated, you can take the test 10+ days past ovulation date. The most accurate would be like 15 days. Sometimes you geta false negative or a flase positive, depending on the day you take it... but as I said its normally gonna catch it 10+ days after ovulation, which sounds like it would be from tomorrow until the 27th. Tomorrow is 10 days past ovulation for me, so Im gonna test tomorrow and keep testing until I get period, if I get one. GOod luck, and let us know what happens!!

it all depends on your hormones. with my first child i took my pregnancy test 2 days after my missed period and it came back positive. with my second i took it two weeks before and it came back positive. but with this last one i took six different pregnancy tests and they all came back negative i didn't find out i was pregnant until i was about 5 months along already.
