I just so happen to know this answer, as me and my wife got married in vegas just a few years ago. And to my knowledge, they haven't changed any laws since then. When we got married, she was 20 and I was 23.

She WILL be able to get into some of the nightclubs. Not all of them, wish I could think of the ones that will let her in, but I can't remember their names.

As for gambling, anytime she is on the casino floor, any of them, she will be told that she must stay on the carpet that runs through the gaming areas. Its generally a different color than the rest of the carpet in the gaming areas. There are some casinos that don't really keep too close of an eye on younger people though, MGM, Imperial Palace and Circus Circus to name a few. My wife was able to gamble in those, but I had to claim the money and they never asked any questions. But if she's not 21, don't even try to enter Harrah's. Me and my wife tried to go in there on 3 different days and at 3 different times, soon as we walked in the door they want ID. That's the ONLY one in Vegas that we seen like that. And if your under 21, turn around and leave.

I hope this helps ya out.

Well my finacee and I will be honeymooning in Vegas and I am almost positive that you cannot do anything until you're at least 21. For the earlier answer about him and his wife, (her being 20 at the time) I think rules are different. Once you are legally married, some laws are different for you. For the majority, I believe you have to be 21. I am 23 now and have been waiting to go to Vegas precisely for this reason.

Now, on the flip side- I have heard that anyone 18 and over (but not yet 21) IS allowed in the gaming area as LONG as they have a 21+ parent or guardian with them at all times. They cannot be paid out if they win a Jackpot. Again, I'm not carving this in stone, just going by what I have heard.

And yes, of course, no alcohol will be permitted.

You may actually check some websites of the Nightclubs in the area and see if they show their age requirements on their site.

Oh, and for all of you that are saying inappropriate things regarding her allowing her daughter to go to Vegas, GROW UP! They are both adults. ( probably unlike the ones writing these negative responses ) I cant stand immature posts just to gain points. Sheesh- be helpful!

Hope this helps some!

As others have stated don't even try the fake ID in Vegas. Clubs are cut throat to get into as it is...if you look underage the bouncer won't look twice @ you or waste his time. If you do happen to get his attention he WILL scrutinize the ID and they WILL know a fake from real (or if it's you or not) if you happen to get caught..well you pretty much screwed the pooch :( If you I'd try to get my fun @ the pool since you can't go out clubbing >sorry to rub it in :( And not that I'm promoting underage drinking, but you could probably have an easier time sneaking your own beverages in there and it wouldn't be so blatently obvious that you are only 18. I really don't know if you need to be 21 or only 18 to gamble so that's an option. If it's 18 you could try drinking in casino...find an empty or almost empty glass. Pick it up and walk around with it, when the cocktail waitress sees you with a glass she might just assume it's yours and you've been drinking. When she asks if you need another you can then order your own drink ;) be sure to tip and try getting same waitress :) I'd save the Las Vegas vacation until you are truly old enough to enjoy...that is legal and 21!!!!

Why don't you just use the general rule of law that she can't be drinking or going into nightclubs that serve alcohol until she's 21 years old.
She can't gamble, either, until she's 21. She can go through the casinos with you, but will probably be told by security personnel to stay on the ouside carpeted walkways and cannot gamble.
She may be old enough to fight in the military or vote, but that's not enough.
Why are you trying to get her into bars anyway? She's too young!
Are you sure you're a responsible parent?

In the order asked: NO and NO. (Except for a walk thru the gaming area) I speak from experience. It was nine days before I turned 21 and I was escorted out of the MGM Grand for being underage in the gaming area. All the nightclubs are 21 and up - and yes they do ID EVERYONE. It's policy that the casinos reserve the right to ask anyone for proof of age anywhere on their property, so truthfully, I'd honestly wait until she turns 21 - otherwise, she'll kinda be bored.

Well in the states the legal age is 21. However, I went to Vegas when I was 18 and I went into casinos, bars, almost wherever I wanted to go to. I was kicked out of one casino, because I was underage. So it's a 50/50 chance of getting kicked out or not.

Law says 21. So if she gets checked and has no proof out she goes. No major casino will risk their license for her or you.
Some young ladies think heavy makeup and big cleavage will do it--that just calls attention to them

I would say it depends on how old she LOOKS. almost all bartenders will ask for ID. she can probably get away with being in and around the gaming areas.......but as soon as she's asked for ID you would have to leave because then they keep an eye on you.
Green Valley Ranch is a family-type casino and you may have better luck there.

Don't know how well they police the casino floors but the law says 21.

She might have a problem getting in to clubs and casino's. I think it's 19 to gamble and 21 to get into the clubs. Check out Vegas.com, it should give you a better idea.
