If you are using a computer to post your ? why dont you look up your ???? at ask.com?

1. Because people are lazy.
2. Because people are ignorant of how to conduct internet research. (see #1)
3. Because people don't know what a search engine like ask or google, etc. is (See #1)
4. Because people don't know how to use a search engine (See #1)
5. Because people don't understand the internet (See #1)
6. Because asking other people is more real than asking a search engine that just doesn't understand (See #1)
7. Because questions are answered faster when other people look up the answer and relevant links (See #1)

etc. etc.

Or maybe it's just plain ignorance in general.

A better question is why do we answer the questions, like this one for example?

because, quite frequently, the asking public has no real idea on how to find information that they need. that's why they come here, also, some of the askers are just plain lazy..
I asked 4 questions, back when I first came in here, a bit back, because I couldn't find the answers elsewhere.. guess I was just not looking in the right sources, and the sources I was being directed to were frustrating me more than when I finally came in here and asked for help.
PLUS, asking here, when you get a good answer, it's usually one that's NOT couched in the techy language that those other sources use, and that's a lot of help for newbies.

Because when you ask questions here, you get answers from real people, instead of simply web search results which sometimes get you nowhere
