I am trying to burn a home movie vhs tape to a dvd+r disk on a toshiba dvd/vhs recorder. it won't recognize the disk and says incorrect disk C104. One I load both the vhs tape and the dvd+r disk it won't let me change back to the the vcr mode like it says in the owner's manuel. I have to turn it off and then eject the dvd to get back to vcr mode. The tapes are not copyrighted. I am very frustrated. Or maybe someone knows where to go to get more technical help.

Apparently you are not alone with this problem! Sound like this unit is a lemon! Check the link out for some poor reviews from epinions.

does your recorder burn dvd+r and dvd-r or just one of those two, there is a diffrence between the plus r and minus r disks... have you tried to use a diffrent disk then the one you recived the error on? every so often a disk wont read due to dirt.or just the fact they are mass produced so cheaply.. try another disk, and check the manual to make sure your recorder uses the +/- media you are tring to record with
