The world has become a global village, with so many nationalities moving around, I guess people who originate from their own country would like to maintain their individuality and this is why they like to differentiate between nationalities. When you travel alot and see other nationalities you begin to see apart from their way of life we are all the same, we all have the same needs, wants etc. It stems from ignorance and instead of b*tching about them we should be enlightening them, because we are all equal after all.

It doesn't matter to me. I just think it makes people more interesting, that's all. I wouldn't want all the distinctions to disappear because that would make the world such a dull place. The last thing in the world I'd want is for everybody else to become just like the people in my own country (which happens to be America).

you're right, we are all equal. but i need to know who i am. all races and people have a tale, a sort of legacy that i feel must carry on - and maybe along with all this it feeds a basic human need to belong, to be part of a bigger picture.
i hope you find your answer (b~_^)b

I agree with you. People find it hard to not define you. In a way, it gives them a sense of who you are when asking about your race. I know it sounds bizarre, but it's true.
