I'm not sure what the question is but I take it as a figurative question. Yes, I've sat on the fence to many times to count. Every decision I've ever made, I think, has me sitting on a fence before I make that decision. Should I get married? Do I love him?
Should I take this job? Should I quit this job? etc. I think you get the idea.
