My ex-husband owes more than $2700 in child support. There has been an active warrant for his arrest for failure to pay and failure to appear at a hearing. The warrant is from July. My ex had moved to FLA to be near his mommy (now you see why we're divorced!) but says he recently moved back to PA. He won't tell me anything about where he lives or works, and still uses a cell phone with a FLA number.

I called DRS to tell them that he is back in PA, but they said they can't do anything unless I can find out WHERE he lives. He is not quite stupid enough to tell me that info. I would THINK they could find out from his employer (they have a wage attachment on him .. they obviously know where he works!)

Any advice? How can I find out where he is, without him finding out I'm searching? He is sneaky, too, wouldn't surprise me if he's holed up in someone's house, or living in the Salvation Army or something.

What about one of those online "find people" searches?

I just wasted $40 an ten minutes of my life on a useless search that "thinks" his current phone number is one that was shut off a yr and a half ago. Grrr... I think I'm gonna call DRS and ask my caseworker to find out thru his work ...

I have been there and I know the aggravation that you are facing.

I would not suggest this but I know you were inquiring about it so...go online and google his name..this will pull up how to find people that you lost touch with. Granted there is a fee to do it and they give you everyone in that area..so unless you don't mind calling several people then you could run into trouble with that option but they do give you phone numbers and addresses.

The one thing I did not understand is why they can not serve him at work. I don't know if there is a law against that but I know first hand that in my state it has been done. I would start calling DRS daily until you get this resolved.

DRS is not doing what they are supposed to. They should be looking for him. But anyhow, if you know his SS# and you should, try getting the Social Security Administration to track him. It might come down to hiring a PI to find him. Other than that, if you don't want him to know, there is not much you can do. Maybe try getting a mutual friend to find out, one who would not tell him the truth.
