I am 16 and 8 months old I just got my license, and the new rule is that you can not transport people under 21(or something close to that) unless you have a licensed driver above 21 in your car.

Can I drive to school with my friend in the car? That sounds obviously like a "no", but I remmeber in drivers ed you could transport siblings, and i was wondering if there was any school program you could do that involves carpooling which would let you leaglly drive a friend to school?

Might I suggest you will do much better to follow the rules instead of looking for loopholes to get around them? There is a reason for the graduated driver license programs, and to put it in its simplest form, it saves lives. FOLLOW THEM!

Well I, like you, got my license when I was 16 too. It is the law that you can't drive anyone under the age of 25, but I know know for siblings you can have a signed note in your glove box stating that you have to drive your sibling to and from school. I had to drive my brother to and from school everyday, and we were told to have a note in the car, stating that you have to drive them to and from school and the specific times you will need to be driving them. Although, if it's anytime not during school hours, you might get into some trouble. However, i'm not sure about friends... but it might not be a bad idea to somehow contact your local DMV, or even ask your school's driving teacher (if you have one). Hope that helps :)

i don't think so. you may not drive anyone under the age of 21 if a licensed driver over the age of 25 is not in the car.

as quickly as you gained a enable from California your Indian drivers license is not any longer valid fro using in California. in case you grow to be a California resident, you could desire to get a California motive force license interior of 10 days. Residency is well-known via balloting in a California election, paying resident training, submitting for a proprietor of a house’s factors tax exemption, or the different privilege or income no longer often prolonged to nonresidents. acquiring a enable could fall under "the different privilege or income no longer often prolonged to nonresidents"
