Hugh...that's a darn good question. Even though some are funny, they are still degrading to women who are blondes. But then there are a lot of 'dumb blonds' who play on that. I think blonde jokes should be outlawed. We're not PC if we don't back away from the others.

I think, as far as "blonde" jokes goes, it's b/c everybody (women-wise) want to be blond while knowing the jokes about blonds are out there. It's almost as if they feel blond is a kind of excuse for them to "be blonde." Point in case: a woman with beautiful natural color hair dies hers blond. One day she's talking to an obviously well do-to man and asking him, "How DID you get all those horses in your boat?" giggle, giggle, giggle. Hmmm, really. What does that say? So why not make jokes?
On the other hand the others you mention, while they may also do "silly" things, had no choice as to what they are or how they're viewed. And 20 years ago the entire world was a very different place.

Over the past 10 years I ave heard many Polish, black and Mexican jokes plus a number of blonde jokes. Several of them were actually funny.

because people are stupid. blonde jokes are based on steryotypes, and as every one knows stereotypes are FALSE! jsut like blonde jokes, race jokes are also based on stereotypes which i will say again are FALSE! people need to quit trying not to offend everyone and people need to not be offended by things that do not apply to them. seriusly people, have any of you ever heard of a mexican that eats tamales on christmas so they have something to unwrap? NO! you havent because its not true! it's a joke, it is meant to be funny nothing else. i think people are only allowed to be offended if it is directed personally towards them and has some truth in it.

I personally think we need to just say what we want and damn the consequences. If people can't take the heat they should stay out of the kitchen. People are, or should be, the caretakers of their OWN self esteem. You take care of yours, and I'll take care of mine, and if I don't like a joke you tell that may pertain to me in some way, I just won't laugh.

According to PC, if it is offending it is not PC. (Why PC really can't be true all the time). So actually, it is going to depend on who is saying the joke and to whom is listening to determine if it is PC for them.

because people are hypocrites. and blondes generally don't care about being stereotyped. (at least for now).
Don't worry, blonde and fat jokes will eventually be forbidden.

your right about the polish jokes, my dad and auntie use to always tell them and my mom is part polish.
