What would be the neagtive/positive effects if we the people could limit the power of a leader?

We already have limits. It's called the Constitution. Unfortunately, too many in Washington, both in the executive and the legislative branch, don't know how to read it, and especially don't know what the Ninth and Tenth Amendments mean.

bush is 1/3 of our govt. congress writes bills , the pres. either signs or veto's them and the supreme court rules whether the law is constitutional or not . call your representatives often and tell them how you feel . you are their boss . they are supposed to do as the majority of their constituents want . at least that's how it used to be before the corporations bought them out . democrats and republicans are both corrupt . vote other .

"he"...doesn't have all the power, "he" has to answer to Congress, they hold the purse strings, they voted to go into Iraq...they keep forgetting that, and they keep blaming "him" for everything... if you want to limit the power of the government get off your butt and vote for people who are about smaller, less intrusive government... find a nice Libertarian Candidate.
