i want one computer wireless and connecting to the router, the router to the dsl and another computer to the dsl (wired). i know it's possible, but what brands would you recommend?

Personally, I like Linksys products. They're well built, reliable, and easy to set up. Make sure you configure security and, if you decide to go with the WRT300N or WRT54GS (SpeedBooster), make sure you also get the 802.11N or SpeedBooster adapter card to go with it.

I would agree with the majority of the people here a Linksys router is a way to go! The new Linksys N series is great, in this unit they've greatly increase the range, and it runs at 108 MB which is twice as fast as the old 54 MB. The only thing it's lacking is the USB port you'll have to hook up a wireless link to run your printer.

I have a lynksis router, and it works very well for me. And yes, you can connect just as you described it.
