The only definition of meater I know is a slang term for someone who goes hunting for food as opposed to for sport. I don't think that's what you had in mind.

Another word for a meat-eater would be a carnivore, is this what you're looking for?

Carnivore; for animals who hunt meat, but can really subsist as omnivores. Obligate carnivore; a short-gutted animal that is " obligated " to eat meat.
