Hard to give very specific info because there's more than one musk turtle. The stinkpot (common musk) is around 4-5", and native from southern Canada to southern and south-central US. The loggerhead musk is about 1/2 inch larger and is native to Florida and Georgia. The razorback musk is the largest (6") and is native to states along the southern Mississippi.

All will spend most of their time in the water, so no "bedding" is really necessary. Provide a tank around 40-50 gallons, longer is better than tall. They just need a turtle dock or stacked rock so they can get out of the water to bask. This should have a UVB light over it and a heat/incandescent light so the temperature gets to 85-90o. Water temp should be mid 70s.

Turtle pellets should make up most of the diet (more convenient and balanced for nutrition) with insects, earthworms, crayfish, ghost shrimp, and feeder fish offered occasionally.

The price can vary with geographic region - they are around $25 -$30 in my area. You can check classifieds at http://www.kingsnake.com/ for a better range.
