Logging? Or are you wanting something more specific? Otherwise, that'd be the slash and burning method booboo referred too, because that emits a lots of CO2 and reduces the trees that can help lessen it.

There are a few reasons, first there is slash and burn farming, then
legal sustainable logging, then there is the black market logging for the hardwoods. I believe the slash and burn farming is doing the most damage, in terms of cutting down the trees and then the CO2
released from the burning.
