How do you shrink a wool sweater?

I just bought a wool sweater online..
and the length of the sweater is perfect.
but the width it too wide. Its just too big!
I bought a small but it seems more like large.
Is there a way I can shrink it but keep the length? Any home or machine wash/drier ideas are welcome. And Thank you in advance!

just wash it then put it in the dryer on high by its self it will shrink up nicely I usually do it this way It works well
