very close to home plate, its the world series so its worth it to just go and tackle the catcher before he makes the play, what would the call be if this were to happen. Basically, what happens if someone on the batting team runs out and tackles a guy before he makes a catch? Sure hes probably thrown out of the game, but can they count it as an out considering he might have dropped it? does it count as a fould?

It would be interference and the batter would be declared out ending the game. Clever concept but the game ends right then.

The batter would be out for interference. A batter cannot make contact with a fielder who's in the act of making a play. In addition, I'd have to assume that tackling the catcher in foul territory would constitute being out of the baseline.

Another result of the play would be that the batter would be brought to court on charges of assault.

You're out for interference, regardless of whether you do the tackling or a teammate does it.

it would be interference and the batter would out. it would end the series and place the tackler "infamously" in the record books.
