well something external is something outside of you. like a person bothering you.

Some common examples are losing a loved one to cancer, competing with someone else for the same job, or even running out of gas on the way to work and trying to fix the problem before you miss an important meeting. Any problem from outside circumstances that stands in the way of making your goal.

a. It must be a conflict the character can't resolve, can only deal with.
b. Goals must be so strong they cannot be abandoned in the face of this situation.
c. The external conflict can also be a collision of the hero and heroine's goals.

An example of an external conflict would be a a child arguing with his parents, or a a person arguing with a friend. Id could also be a person having to go through everyday activities, such as waiting in traffic, etc... Hope this helps. Bye!!!
