You are quite mistaken.
America is not a country exactly. There are North America and South America. These are continents. Canada is in North America, as is Greenland, though that belongs to Denmark.
The United States (of America) is a country that borders much of Canada. There are no other Americas, except Central America. That is only a subsection of North America.
Canada is the largest country in the western hemisphere and ALL of the Americas. It is somewhat bigger than the United States, which is sometimes called America.

If by "America" you mean the "United States of America", then Canada is bigger. If you mean the "New World" of North America and South America, then America is bigger, since Canada is part of America. If you mean Canada's Ego or America's Ego, then Canada is far smaller than America. Oh, and FYI, Canada borders America's (The U. S.) on the north, so it is really very close to America. By America do you mean the United States of America, because it is right next to Canada and shares a common border. Or do you mean North America which it is part of or South America which can be reached without crossing an ocean.
Canada — Area - Total: 9,984,670 SQ KM
According to https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/print/ca.html
United States — Area - Total: 9,631,420 SQ KM
According to https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/print/us.html
So Canada is bigger than the USA

All of you knew what he meant. Just like to get on here and troll around to make other people feel stupid and makes yourselfs sound very smart. If you are researching comments to put on the internet you are not inteligent. If you are smart then you are spending time with loved ones and not making someone elses life miserable besides your spouse if you are lucky enough to still have one.
