America is not a country exactly. There are North America and South America. These are continents. Canada is in North America, as is Greenland, though that belongs to Denmark.

The United States (of America) is a country that borders much of Canada. There are no other Americas, except Central America. That is only a subsection of North America.

If you mean the "New World" of North America and South America, then America is bigger, since Canada is part of America.
