I really love the older artists, don't know what to call them except geniuses.

My very fav is James Taylor, I have seen him 4 times and each was a unique and great show.

I also love Yes, they are all so awesome. I saw them once and passed out from overwhelm.

I love Rod Stewart, I have seen him twice. I think he is a true talent but I wish he would write more and quit recycling his greatest hits and other people's songs. ENOUGH!

Beyond that, I love a lot of other music, it usually boils down to lyrical expertise, content, and musical ability, artistic integrity, and FUN.

I do love those Irish boys. Hothouse Flowers, Waterboys, Van Morrison, Dire Straits. Damn I love it.

I love the Eagles and Don Henley, Bruce Hornsby, Joshua Kadison, Marc Cohn, John Denver, and Crosby Stills Nash...for the acoustic masters. Elton I can take or leave.

I LOVE my music BIG. Queen, Styx, Yes, Dream Theater, Yanni, I consider orchestrators and so charismatic, and yet almost ethereal sometimes.

Hate showtunes. HATE THEM!! Waste of notes in most cases. I do like Les Mis, Phantom, Tommy, Rent, and JCS. All that Oklahoma, Music Man, stuff makes my ears bleed.

I LOVE Led Zeppelin, the Stones, Pink Floyd, Black Crowes, Bad Co, U2, and Clapton. They are all so talented and versatile. Hendrix and Who are not my bag but what innovators. I always did enjoy John Lennon solo more than the Beatles.

For roots rock there is nothing like John Mellencamp. Just good old American rock. I like Bob Seger too and some Tom Petty. Springsteen is kind of a take it or leave it thing for me but he is very talented.

For soul and RB music, I really love Sam Cooke, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Smokey, and the Temptations. MAN what a talent.

For harder rock, how bout Faith No More, ACDC, Metallica?

I really like the new smooth softer sound. Coreen Bailey Rae, John Mayer, and others. I don't always know who they are.

There are a few people who I consider MASTERS in their craft and I love them for it.

Prince
Stevie Wonder
James Taylor
Bobby McFerrin
ALL the members past and present of Yes particularly Steve Howe, Jon Anderson, and Rick Wakeman.
Phil Collins
Sting
Peter Gabriel
Don Henley
Van Morrison
Quincy Jones
John Lennon

I tend to gravitate to concept albums, I think for the most part songs are not the whole story in and of themselves and are meant to exist in the context of an album. Albums are also really much better indicators of whole talent, and capturing an artist's style in time.

I could go on all day.
