its his superstition and good luck charm the he goes barefoot on any preformance, judgement day or appearence so he does good

That's his thing man! Like wearing the same socks all basketball season, not showering during a winning streak, stuff like that. Some people believe much more in superstitions than others, no matter how gross they may be!

Because when he tried out he wasn't wearing shoes and during the other auditions he didn't wear shoes so he thinks it may be lucky for him
