My teacher asked me if there was anything going on; she said I've been acting different for the past couple weeks. I was like, Okay, in what way? I have a stuffy nose? I was sick last week.
She was like, Oh. And I said, Well, I haven't been studying as much (cuhz my grades have been getting lower). She replied, So you're not studying as much? I said, No. Are you talking about school, grades, or what? And she said, No, it's just that you've been different. If you need anything, I'll be glad to help. I was like, Okay, thx.
Maybe I've not been smiling a lot cuhz I'm still part sick, if you know what I mean.
My voice still sounds weird cuhz of the stuffy nose.
But colds don't last for weeks...At least mine didn't.

What was she aiming for?
Family? Grades?
Should I ask her tomorrow about it?

My grade average is still an A, a 95.
I meant slacking as in not focusing as much :)

Well if you are close with this teacher, confront her and say, ive been sick but im getting better and im studying just the same. If your not//you dont like her tell her that you've been sick and needed sleep. Plus, its not really her business unless you two are close! ♥

That does seem like an odd conversation. She seems to be reading a lot into your being less perky while sick with a virus. Sounds like your teacher just went to a meeting about identifying students with "problems"... drugs, mental health, family issues. Have there been any recent incidents at your school where something tragic happened and the teachers might think they could've prevented it by asking those kinds of questions?

I agree with the respondent who said you should make it clear you have been sick. You don't want Ms. Do-Gooder to get the school counselor involved or something. It might help to get a note from one of your parents--at least this would show you talk to your parents and they care about you.

If you seem to have a cold that won't go away, you might have something else--allergies or a sinus infection--and it would be worth talking to your family doctor. (Especially if you can schedule the appointment during that teacher's class. :-))

If your teacher still won't accept your explanation about being sick, then a parent should probably talk to her in as diplomatic a manner as possible. They should let her know that they appreciate her concern for her students, but she needs to believe you were telling the truth about being sick.

Good luck dealing with the teacher.

Step up to the plate and ask her. If you are really sick then ask a doctor's note to prove but i think somethings bothering her and she wants to know why. It may involves with your personal life that you didn't post and your schooling but i think you should talk to her one on one after class to make sure. Clear it up with her before she take it to the counselor and then your parents which may result in....... GROUNDED!!!!!!!!!

most teachers like to jump at a depressed-looking student because the actions they take could lead to a raise. dont think about it, it was probably nothing.

May be she thought you had family issues and she thought you were crying and didn't do your work because of your family.
