Darth Vader himself said:

"I think if we were to do what Speaker Pelosi and Congressman Murtha are suggesting, all we will do is validate the al-Qaida strategy," the vice president told ABC News. "The al-Qaida strategy is to break the will of the American people ... try to persuade us to throw in the towel and come home, and then they win because we quit."

I thought we went to Iraq to stop Saddam. Atleast thats what we were told. All this talk about Al Qaeda is just another scare tactic. How sick is it that these fools have to say this garbage. How many times will we let them lie to us.

I'm not saying the course that Pelosi and Murtha suggest is the best, I'm in the middle. But its wrong to constantly critisize, especially when your not even in a position to make policy like the VICE president is. He's such a tool. He's the Presidents tool, not the other way around, he's a sick little puppet who wouldn't even support his own flesh and blood.

Hey Pablo Diablo....we were told that eliminating Saddam was an objective. Do you think that finding the alleged weapons and then ducking out was the plan, NO! It was to kill saddam, bring """""""""LIBERTY""""""""(notice the quotations) to a country that was in need of liberation. Stop being such a Bushy.

And..MR. THIS IS NOT ROME....You just bought into the idea that all of Al-Qaeda is in Iraq. As if somehow someway by some magic power if we beat the "insurgency in Iraq" we'll somehow eliminate all of al qaeda. Get a clue.

I think you have it back @sswards, my boy. Dick Cheney is very influential in the Bush White House. Much of today's policies were orchestrated by him. I fall in line behind him on the al Qaida theory. I also support his disdain for those two imbeciles in California, Murtha and Pelosi.

I have wondered which of the two is Charlie McCarthy and which is Edgar Bergan. Each one needs the other to show back up support on whatever they say. It's obvious they don't have the courage of their convictions, when they need the other to lend support to each others comments. I wonder, which one actually does the thinking for the two?

You can strut around all you want and think that al Oaida's tactics are not what Cheney says they are, but I believe he is right on the money. Keep whining about bringing the troops home, bin Ladens cronies just love it, and so does Murtha and Pelosi !

You're wrong on one point. We were never told that the reason for the war was to eliminate Saddam. We were told it was to find the weapons of mass destruction. Still waiting on that one...

Edit:
You're talking about why we were really there. I'm talking about what we were told. I agree completely that we were there to eliminate Saddam. Although, I honestly couldn't tell you why we're still there. According to Bush, we're there to win. But good luck figuring out what the criteria are for doing that. The adminstration has not given any type of specific goal or objective for a couple years now.

And, for God's sake man, if you gathered from what I said that I'm a Bush supporter, you're pretty dense. I was trying to add fuel to your fire.

I heard 3 newscasters tonight say the British want out
because of our behavior over there. Yes, I agree, Darth
Cheney is grasping for air at this point.

Gasping for air? I couldn't say. But it sure isn't a well-reasoned argument... especially about Murtha. He's saying "let's make sure they have enough armor, and give our soldiers a needed--and promised--rest."

How can anyone in their right minds argue this?

Oh.

No. I think the statements by Cheney were a valid statement of the way terrorists operate. They want us to leave. If we give in now, we will have to either fight them again, or continually appease them.
