Ah, but it WASN'T in Missouri. The Missouri Compromise was written and passed in the United States Congress in 1820. Therefore, you're looking at Washington D.C., not Missouri. Good thing you asked!

The Missouri Compromise dealt with admitting the state of Missouri into the Union. It was "written" in Washington DC by the House and Senate in 1820.
