Have you ever gone to a club and watched a black person dance, then turn around watch a white person dance?

Nine times out of ten the black person is dancing with the rhythm of music. On the other hand, the white person tends to dance on a rhythm that consist of them moving several beats before or after the rhythm of the music playing.

Why is this? Of course, there are exceptions for every race, but more often than not white people get accused of not having any rhythm.

Can someone answer this question for me? What do white people hear when they listen to music, do they hear the beats of the music or do they just move freely with the words of the song, having no concern of whether their movements are rhythmic or not?

Thanx

The following could be true for ANYONE who dosen't have rhythm:

1. They are trying too hard

2. They watch other people to see what do do and they copy them, just a beat after they saw it

3. They do not listen to the percussion in music (which is responsible for the tempo) they will dance to the words or another instrument

4. They are just trying too hard

5. They get too excited when they think they are on the beat and it just gets worse

6. They do a dance that they have just learned or saw on a video, but it's wrong for the current song playing

7. They are just trying to friggin hard.

It takes rhythm to reproduce and every race got that right. Let that be proof that race has nothing to do with rhythm. As for dancing and any other art, some "people" get it and some don't. Race plays no part.

Acute observation.
Black people dance to rhythm while white people tend to dance to rules. I'm not saying white people can't dance, they can, but they tend to dance according to rules/styles set down in dancing while black people just improvise.

I think it's because black music tends to focus on the rythym, where as white music tends use rythym to support the melody of the song.

rhythm, is hard for some. Its seems a little harder for them to catch the beat.....so they create there own and stick with it.....

addition:I would love to run over that little Swede in a rather large German car....

Do you know what inept means?

Why is it that white people are so much better with language and vocabulary???

...I mean, there are exceptions with every race, but more often than not, when they listen to words and language, why do they have no concern for the meaning of words or for comprehending what they mean?

the word is ept. inept means lacking ability. we white people have a genetic inner ear deformity that prevents us from hearing music in rythmic patterns.

I don't know, but you might want to edit your question to say adept concerning rythm. Your question basicly asks "why don't black people have rythm?"
