Because they call themselves "fair and balanced." Isn't that all it takes for one's viewers to be convinced that you're fair and balanced?

Fox news is not fair and balanced. The channel seems to favor Republicans with OReilly and Hannity leading the pack. Unfortunately Colms is too weak to stand up against a blowhard like Hannity. Both Hannity and Oreilly bear down on their guests unmercifully and it isn't fun to watch. Were I a guest I would tell both of them off in no uncertain words. These two fellows are not stupid only rude and misguided because they usually take one side (ultra-conservative) to a point of obserdity.

I think it was a commentator from the BBC who once dryly remarked that for Fox News to trademark the phrase "fair and balanced" was somewhat akin to Richard Nixon trademarking the phrase "I am not a crook".
