he's gonna be one-broke-mofo LMAO!! live'n in a tent... you would think at some point he would learn his lesson, and since he has not, he now must pay.

for the record, there is no negotiating with the amount, you owe what you owe. what they do debate is the amount they give to let them out of jail or drop a warrant. if they slap down a chunk of of cash (goes toward the arrears), they'll let him out.

if he can afford an attorney (maybe the attorney is from Legal Aid or working probono), he can afford child support.

if i were you, i would pull rank.

sit down and write a letter. in it give your contact info, your case number, his info (and all of his babys he's been making), and the problem. keep the letter short, its better that way.

then take that ONE letter and FAX IT to the following:
1) your state Attorney General
2) your state Governor
3) your caseworker and their supervisor
4) your Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office.

all links for these are below. if you cant find the fax number, just call them up and ask for it. keep in mind, phone calls are useless; they are ignored, denied, and forgotten. mail ends up in someones "to do" pile, but FAXES ARE EFFECTIVE. its proof you sent it and proof they recieved it. therefor, they HAVE to address it. if you hear nothing in a week, fax it again. fax it weekly if need be.

if they write or call you and tell you they dont 'do this or that', ask them who does. ask for a name. ask what they are doing about it. ask why he is not in jail (yeah, they cant work if in jail, but they dont like it, so it does work). ask why he can afford an attorney but not child support.

keep at 'em. the squeaky wheel gets the oil, always remember that.

also, post HIS DEADBEAT FACE ON A DEADBEAT SITE ONLINE.

here are some links; some you will have to click on your state to find the subject/section you need.

The father obviously hasn't taken responsibility for his actions. He has 5 kids to three different mothers and you would have thought after the 2nd relationship he would of stopped and called it twice bitten and done something about it. It is not always the woman who do this. I think that he should just own up and pay for his children he brought in the world and take responsbility. If he can afford a lawyer he can afford to pay child support. He obviously has money laudrening around somewhere. Why is he prolonging the hearing. The judge will get sick an tired and not agree to prolong the hearing because it is not in the best interests to the children to have a drawn out hearing which can cause stress on the whole family. There is no way you can negotiate with a parent who is not taking responsibility for his actions the child support agency would be your best bet with collecting through them. The frustration involved is not worth the battle for you.

thats kinda crazy. Im not sure how he could hire a lawyer if he cant or says he cant afford to pay you child support. I tell you what, i know a way you can get a lawyer and legal advice without paying what you would think for a lawyer. Im a member of a service that offers a legal backhand to people like you and me who cant afford to pay lawyers up front. Check out the website, www.prepaidlegal.com. Its legitimate, i use it and i look foreward to using it more if i need to. Watch the video and contact me if you are interested, just trying to help and do a good deed to others who need it.

First off "He" doesn't pay to the parents in a since, he pays for the child. The child I take it was from him and your wife/gf? She has to be the one to file for support or support amendment. Take it to the judge, file and let judge make a ruling. As for him hiring a lawyer, that's a good move on his part, he should make sure he's only paying what the law says, little as possible or not.

With the limited information provided it sounds like the court is the one deciding that the support can be negotiated. I haven't heard of it but when I was divorced in Iowa I was awarded child support from my ex-wife.

doesn't matter what he thinks the courts will decide for him dont take his word for anything make him let the courts decide he sounds like a dead beat dad and the courts now days can handle him the best he will either pay what the court says or he'll go to jail

Well yes, he hired a lawyer, but it is in his best interest to do that. It may cost him more to hire the lawyer in the short term, but if he can get a reduction in support payments then it benefits him to hire the attorney. I'm sorry, this will sound judgmental, but you picked him to be the father of your child.
